We want to make the working day easier for Swedish foresters

A challenging year lies behind us, and it is time to look ahead to 2022. The past year has had many positive aspects amid all the challenges, and we have interviewed our CEO Kristian Jonsson to hear his thoughts and expectations for 2022.

How would you summarize Vreten's 2021?
– As many people know, 2021 was a year full of challenges for everyone in the industry. We have seen major side effects from the heatwave of 2018, and recent years have been affected by the bark beetle that has hit us all over the world. But after rain comes sunshine, and during the pandemic, demand for timber has increased. Among other things, exports to the US have risen, which means that foresters are getting good prices for their material.

What is the best thing from 2021 that you are taking with you into 2022?
– We have gained significantly more customers who are buying Vreten forest trailers. There has been an increase in confidence among our dealers. We are very proud of this and will continue to work actively to take advantage of this opportunity.

What can customers expect from Vreten in 2022?
– We are actively working on a new innovation that will be launched during the year. With this product, we will be able to offer our customers a smoother and faster alternative at a really attractive price. We are really looking forward to this and see great potential in the product to facilitate and streamline Swedish forestry operations – at a very good price.

Will Vreten be making any changes ahead of 2022?
– We have just made investments in the factory that will help us save energy through large heat pumps that utilize the energy in our drying halls at the paint departments. The reduced energy consumption means that we can keep price increases down for our customers and reduce our climate footprint. We are also continuing our automation efforts by rebuilding our welding robot in 2022 to accommodate the welding of larger units.

Another product I would like to highlight isthe Vreten X-pro, which is somewhat of a hidden gem. It is a truly professional product developed as a forwarder with high-strength steel throughout its construction, but offering the advantages of a tractor combination when it comes to moving quickly and easily between different forest areas.
